Illustration Commissions

Terms Of Service

I reserve the explicit right to refuse any commission for any reason. I allow 2 revisions during the sketching process.  Due to the nature of traditional mediums (Actual paper and paint), once you have approved the sketch, I am no longer able to make major revisions. Some minor changes can sometimes be made digitally later, but that would depend on the project and will be considered on a case by case basis. If you choose to book a commission, you understand and appreciate my particular style of illustration and color palette choices. Every effort will be taken by me to mimic shapes and colors from the reference photos you provide using my unique color palette. I am not liable if you hire me based on my existing work and somehow expect a different style or color palette.

What I Won’t Draw

-Sexual or inappropriate content.

-Overly political themes (An exception would be patriotism).

-Inappropriate or crude language or humor.

-Anything to do with gender identity or sexual orientation.

-Anything that goes against my Judeo-Christian values.

-Anything having to do with hate, violence, etc.

-Anything having to with religious iconography or language that would go against my Judeo-Christian values.

Timing

Once I accept your commission, turnaround time is generally two weeks or less. This depends solely on your timely response and approval of emails and proofs. I am not liable if you fail to answer emails or approve proofs in a timely manner. Such failure on your part will result in a longer timetable for your artwork to be finished and delivered via email. Please notify me as soon as possible if you need the artwork within a certain timeframe. I may be able to expedite the process if I’m not fully booked. The two week time table does not begin until I have notified you that your commission is booked. If I am unusually busy (particularly around the holidays) I will make every effort to communicate a clear timeline if I am somehow unable to finish within the original timetable. I strive to have open and honest communication throughout the process.

Pricing

As of now, I am only booking for my popular ‘WHO I AM’ portraits, which are $100 per portrait. I require a 50% deposit on ALL commissions due BEFORE I start work on your order. The remainder of the cost of the commission is due BEFORE I deliver the final illustration. You will of course be able to approve a final watermarked proof before paying in full and receiving your final digital copy.

Copyright/Licensing

Although you may have your portrait professionally printed for personal use or gifts, I retain all copyrights and licensing rights, as well as keeping the original artwork. For an additional fee plus shipping, you can request the original artwork. You may not reproduce the portrait for any reason other than for personal use and gifts. I may ask for permission to share your finished portrait on social media and my website.

-An example of a correct use would be having several copies of a grandchild‘s portrait printed and framed for gifts for family members.

-An example of incorrect use would be printing the portrait on tshirts, greeting cards, tote bags, etc. for the purpose of selling them OR using the portrait in promotional or marketing materials. If you would like to do this, an additional licensing fee is required to legally use the portrait in this way. If you’re interested in licensing the artwork, please email me at adventurewildepress@gmail.com

What You Will Receive

You will receive a high resolution (300dpi) digital copy of your portrait that you can then have printed and framed at your local provider.
